small foundation with a big impact

parents meeting

Last week parents/family meetings were organised at both Kikatiti and Ngorika. Four different topics were discussed during these meetings.
  1. General child welfare: how we handle discipline in the houses, and what our educational targets are.
  2. Vacation period: where possible, the children are sent home for the school holidays. It is important for the families to pick up their children, but also to provide them with initial support at home.
  3. Birth certificate: our objective is to make families responsible for locating and submitting their child’s birth certificate. Government policy does not allow us to admit children who do not have a birth certificate.
  4. Visitors days : we encourage family members to attend the visitors days so that they can maintain their bond with the child and monitor his or her development.
