small foundation with a big impact

Irene (19 yrs), 2nd year student!

Irene was six years old when she came to the Kikatiti children’s home; her younger sister and brother  followed shortly thereafter. They had been living in the children’s home for many years, and attending the local school in Chem Chem when our social workers discovered that they had living relatives who wished to care for them. The process of family reunion began, but unfortunately it was not a success. Irene’s younger brother returned to us and is now in the last class of our own primary school. The two girls were sent to a local boarding school for secondary education, after which one of the girls took a short training course that prepared her for her current job in the hotel and restaurant business. Irene was determined to go farther, and is now in her second year of a four-year course at a financial management college. The members of the managing board are extremely proud of this achievement.
